The role of Design-Apart with partner companies includes getting together to explore and develop new strategies and design approaches to handicraft Italian products.
It’s a job we enjoy immensely because it gives us the opportunity to give future and innovative perspectives to the wonderful artisan traditions for which our country is famous.
It’s also a win-win approach, able to give new value to products by involving new design talent.
In the past weeks we have had the pleasure to work side-by-side with our Partner Menotti Specchia in order to be ready with a consistent presence in the worldwide event of Salone del Mobile in Milano – which opens tomorrow April 8th.
A workshop centered on the core values of customization and handicraft approach has been developed, and selected designers have taken the brief issued by Menotti Specchia and Design-Apart.
They’ve come out with great output, both in design and product terms.
Without revealing too much (we don’t want to spoil the surprise!), we can tell you that you’re about to see, this coming days at the Milanese FuoriSalone Brera, five new interpretations of Parquet.
What matters in particular – and where a good deal of added value lies – is that each and every stage of production is entirely in-house, alternating industrial processes, manual operations and necessary resting times.
As a matter of fact, every Menotti Specchia product has always been synonymous with meticulous craftmanship and industrial integrity, since the company was born, 90 years ago.
To put it in the words of Menotti Specchia’s owner, Mr. Gabriele Godi:
“We ensure tailored care and coherent service at each and every stage. This is only possibile if you’ve managed and personally followed each moment of production – for 90 years.”
